The Sheep Show is back for 2026
Following the fantastic feedback and turnout at the previous show, we’re delighted to welcome the Sheep Show back to the Leicestershire County Show.

DEFRA guidelines & biosecurity
We are closely monitoring current DEFRA guidance around animal movement and biosecurity. At present, we remain hopeful that this will not affect the 2026 Sheep Show. However, circumstances can change and we will comply fully with any official advice or restrictions that may arise.

Back by popular demand Nell Hepworth-Smith’s live sheepdog demonstrations
After proving to be one of the real highlights of last year’s show, we are delighted to welcome Nell Hepworth-Smith back to the Leicestershire County Show with her fantastic live sheepdog demonstrations.
Taking place across both show days, Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August, this brilliant arena display is a must-see for visitors of all ages. Whether you saw Nell in action last year or are joining us for the first time, this is a wonderful opportunity to watch highly skilled working dogs doing what they do best.
Led by Nell, the demonstrations showcase the incredible bond between handler and dog. Watch as her expertly trained sheepdogs respond to subtle whistles, calls and commands, using their natural instinct, focus and intelligence to move sheep with remarkable precision. It is a fascinating display of trust, teamwork and countryside tradition.
One of the things that made Nell’s demonstrations so popular last year was the way she brought the audience into the experience. This year, children will once again have the chance to get involved, with Nell inviting young visitors from the crowd to join her in the arena and take part in the demonstration. It is a fun, hands-on way for children to learn more about the vital role working dogs play in farming and rural life.
There will also be opportunities to meet Nell and her dogs, ask questions and take some brilliant photos. Friendly, educational and full of character, this is a display that captures everything people love about the county show.
Make sure you don’t miss Nell Hepworth-Smith and her live sheepdog demonstrations—back by popular demand and sure to be another crowd favourite this year.
